Dish Towel Angel

Last summer my mom and I were strolling through a gift store when I spotted a "dish towel angel."  Now the one I saw was pretty fancy-schmancy and carried an equally fancy-schmancy price tag ($16.95).  The dish towel was trimmed in lace and the arrangement used plenty of luxurious ribbons and trims.  Upon studying it, however, I could see that it was basically just a dish towel, pot holder and dish cloth.  I figured I could make one for less than $3 if I visited my local dollar store and I was right!  You can purchase the dish towel ($1), pair of pot holders ($1) and a pair of dish cloths ($1).  Pretty simple to make, too!  (The one shown was used with more expensive items, but I already had those.)  These would make cute gifts if you used seasonal items and would be awesome with some Bath & Body Works kitchen soap.

To begin you'll need a dish towel, pot holder, dish cloth and ribbon (or string, thread, zip ties, etc...):

Use a piece of ribbon to tie pot holder in the middle, then set aside:

Fan-fold the dish towel:

Then fold the dish towel in half:

Tie off a section about 2 inches from the top to make the angel's head:

Fan-fold the dish cloth:

Fold the dish cloth around the dish towel (just under the "head") and tie with a piece of ribbon to make the arms:

Secure the pot holder to the back with another piece of ribbon:

And there's your angel!
